A LIIAR Analysis of the Brief

A Liiar analysis of the Brief

My front cover needs to contain a masthead. I will place this at the top of the page and it will cover the left side of the top of the page in big, bold writing. This will then stand out and therefore be noticeable for my target audience.
The main image will cover the whole of the front page and it has to be a medium close up of a subject that is making eye contact with the audience and the face has to be clearly seen. There will be a main image/ feature advertised will relate to my magazines main image.
My college magazine is going to be brightly coloured but it will look neat with two or three main colours, so the colours will link and look good together. The bright colours when matching will instantly look good and because they are bright they will become eye catching.
I will also include thumb nail images that illustrate other articles and I will include subtitles or teasers to make it clear why I have included the images.
Another convention I will include is an anchorage (main image cover line) to go with my main image and in a way explain what is happening in the image.
I will include a barcode and price on my front cover to let people know the cost of my college magazine; I will place the barcode in the bottom left corner and the price next to it.
A competition and free gifts, this will attract students to the magazine because they could win.
Teasing contents along the bottom will be included because this is another way of grabbing the student’s attention, the teasing contents will make them want to read on which therefore means they have to buy the college magazine.

I am going to pretend that I am producing my magazine for an existing publisher, whose other publications have something in common with mine.

The message I would like to convey in my magazine is that wyke is a fun place to be at but it has very high standards and it is a brilliant educational environment. The aim is to help students to be enthusiastic about coming to wyke every week day.

My target audience is wyke students aged 16-19. The reason I choose this target audience is because I can relate to this audience which will make my magazine better.

I would like to positively represent the college and make it look better, I would like it to look like a happy learning environment.
